Pathways Offered

Pathway Descriptions

Construction Site Safety Orientation (NCCER-CSSO)

The Construction Site Safety Orientation (CSSO) is designed to provide learners with a fundamental understanding of jobsite safety, including common causes of workplace incidents and accidents and how to prevent them. The CSSO also covers important basic safety topics such as working from heights and working in confined spaces. Additionally, the Construction Site Safety Orientation aligns with OSHA’s 10-hour program, which enables instructors who are OSHA-500 certified to issue 10-hour OSHA cards to learners who successfully complete the module. The OSHA 10-hour card, when combined with an NCCER credential, demonstrates credible and valuable safety training to employers. Students are able to complete either (a.) the CSSO Completion Certificate only, or (b.) the CSSO Completion Certificate plus the OSHA-1O training.

Introduction to Basic Construction Skills (NCCER)

The Basic Construction Skills Core prepares individuals for entry-level positions on project sites by providing the basics in safety, hand and power tools, construction math, materials handling, construction drawings, rigging, and employability skills. This competency-based program, which is recognized by the construction industry across the US, can be used as a pre-apprenticeship program and meets the funding requirements for Perkins. The Basic Construction Skills Core curriculum includes:

OSHA-1O (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) Training (NCCER)

The CareerSafe OSHA 10-Hour construction safety course provides foundational knowledge of occupational safety and health standards appropriate for entry-level workers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of workplace hazards, and information regarding workers' rights and employer responsibilities. This OSHA training helps to ensure that workers have the knowledge they need to stay safe on the job. A US Department of Labor OSHA 10-Hour Construction card is awarded to students who successfully complete the CareerSafe OSHA 10-Hour Construction course and demonstrate credible and valuable safety training.

Electrical Level 1 Occupational Training (NCCER)

The Electrical Level 1 Occupational Training is a comprehensive electrical safety program. It equips students with the knowledge and skills to navigate electrical hazards, utilize personal protective equipment, and comply with safety regulations. Level 1 training delves into electrical theory, circuit analysis, the National Electrical Code, and how to interpret electrical drawings, including the use of architect's and engineer's scales. This program prepares learners for a career as skilled professionals in the electrical field. Electrical Level 1 Occupational Training curriculum includes:

Community Health Worker Certificate (Morehouse School of Medicine)

The Community Health Worker (CHW) training program, offered by Morehouse School of Medicine, introduces learners to the field of community health and enables them to take an active role in the health and wellness of their communities. Students will serve as ambassadors for healthy behaviors, access to healthcare, and a better quality of life in their communities. The CHW program also serves as a pathway for students to pursue a career in healthcare, not only as a community health worker but to continue their education to earn the necessary credentials to work as a health technician, therapist, nurse, physician, or other related roles. Additionally, the CHW certificate can be used to support community service hours and apply for community health worker and similarly skilled jobs.

Healthy Housing Principles Certificate (Building Performance Institute)

The Healthy Housing Principles (HHP) program focuses on ensuring residents’ homes are safe and clean by implementing principles focused on the connection between human health and the condition of their living environment. Earning the Healthy Housing Principles (HHP) Certificate of Knowledge demonstrates knowledge of how the different components of a home interact to affect occupants' health. The HHP credential provides insights for individuals working in community health, state and local health departments, utility services, home inspectors, teachers, and other helping professions.

Alternative High School Credential

This alternative high school diploma track is intended to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students who desire to earn a High School Diploma (H.S.) Diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalency. The curriculum is flexible and allows students to take ownership of their education and move towards obtaining their high school diploma or equivalent. The program is an alternative to traditional high school education and enables learners to earn a credible credential as they continue their education or pursue a successful career.
